Meet Amanda!

Amanda Graves joins us as our new Evangelization and Young Adults Manager. We are so excited to welcome Amanda to our St. Francis community!

Where are you from?

Born and raised in Dallas, Texas!

What were you doing before you started working at St. Francis?

I'm coming from another parish in the Diocese, but prior to that I spent four years as a missionary with FOCUS, the Fellowship of Catholic University Students! I spent a lot of time on college campuses becoming friends with students, inviting them to bible studies and even walking with a few in a mentorship relationship. This is where I really learned about the love of God, saw the beauty of the Church, and learned how to share my faith.

What is your favorite dessert?

I'm more of a salty snack person. Popcorn is on the menu any time of day!

What are your hobbies?

I love to spend time outside, walking, playing sports (I'm always down for a pickup game of volleyball) and reading in a hammock! I also love to take care of plants!

If you could have dinner with one person, dead or alive, who would it be?

Bob Stoops. I'm a huge fan of my alma mater, The University of Oklahoma!

Who is your favorite saint?

This changes often as I learn about new Saints, but, my Confirmation saint is St. Francis of Assisi. It's only fitting that I'm here!

What is your favorite form of prayer?

Every day I make it a point to sit in silence, take deep breaths and reflect on an image of Jesus that I'm drawn to!

Do you have a favorite quote or bible verse?

1 Corinthians 9:22, "To the weak I became weak, to win over the weak. I have become all things to all, to save at least some." This verse drives my desire to love God and to love my neighbor.

What made you want to work for the Church?

The Lord has captured my heart and has called me to himself. Through working for the Church I'm able to freely share this love and be in communion with others who are also striving to be saints!
